- Abstract
ln this thesis, a model of the internal mail flow model system of the Ottawa Post Office is presented and it is shown how this model can be used, as an aid to planning and design. The model is analysed, using computer simulation techniques and analytic techniques based on queueing theory. As an example of how the model and analysis techniques can be used, the mail flow system of the Ottawa Post Office is analysed to determine the most cost effective method for implementing the assured mail program.
