Abstract:

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the issues associated with the stakes of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exam of Nepal, to explore the negative consequences of the exam results, and make suggestions regarding how extreme negative consequences of the SLC exam results can be minimized. The study suggests strategies to address these negative consequences including practical and vocational education for unsuccessful students, respectful and responsible family and school environments, and alternatives to the SLC exam.
