- Abstract
A method based upon the secant modular ratio and transformed sections is used to analyze the thrust-moment-curvature characteristics of reinforced concrete sections. A successive approximation method based upon the thrust-moment-curvature characteristics of such sections is used to investigate the behavior of long reinforced concrete beam-columns with pinned ends. A creep prediction law is formulated on the basis of standard creep experimental data. The time-dependent behavior of long reinforced concrete beam-columns subjected to sustained loading is analyzed using the concept of time dependent flexural stress-strain relationships. A procedure forobtaining the reserve factor for creep design is also described.
